Lady attended Xavier College Preparatory and earned the prestigious Dorrance Scholarship, a full scholarship that supported her college education and allowed her to study abroad in Italy, broadening her global perspective and commitment to public service.
Launching a Career in Probation
With your support, Lady explored career paths and gained hands-on experience, including an internship with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office during her junior year. There, she discovered a strong interest in adult probation. In her senior year, she built relationships with probation officers, completed a ride-along, and was encouraged by the Chief of Probation to apply for the role. She applied just before graduation and was accepted into the Probation Officer Academy.
A Journey Fueled by Support and Resolve
Lady faced challenges along the way, including extending her graduation timeline. With guidance from Hope Ignites and the help of a summer scholarship, she completed her degree and began the Academy that fall.
Today, Lady is proudly serving as an Adult Probation Officer. She credits Hope Ignites Phoenix for providing scholarships, networking opportunities, and unwavering support every step of the way. Her story is a powerful reminder that with perseverance and community support, long-held dreams can become reality and meaningful careers can be launched in service of justice.
